Is that the correct spelling of Homer Simpson's favorite expletive? Seriously, I no sooner commit $10 worth of love to Adam Loewen when he has the dreaded "stiff shoulder."
I know its just a stiff shoulder, but haven't I been here before? First, its a stiff shoulder and the pitcher in question is just going to miss a start as a precaution. Five days later, its still stiff and he is going to visit a physical therapist although no surgery will be needed. Then we wait. A week or two later, his shoulder/elbow/entire left side of his body is injured and he misses the next year and a half.
Why do we have such bad luck with pitchers? Do other organizations do this badly and I only pay attention to our problems? When the Sox need young pitchers, there are Lester and Bucholz, healthy and no-hitting us. Its their old players who break down. Our young players are the ones who go down while our oldsters remain healthy. Not particularly effective, but healthy. I hope Angelos gets a volume discount at the surgeon's office. Thank God that Las Vegas is uniquely structured to allow convenient access to alcohol 24 hours per day. Every Orioles fan should have that going for them.
